Police identify body of woman found in canal in Mytholmroyd

Police have identified the body of a woman which was recovered from the canal in Calderdale.

At around 11.40am on Friday May 15, police were called to the canal near to Walkley Clogs between Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge.

A member of the public reported seeing a body in the water.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed identity but not disclosed any details of her name.

The woman’s death is not believed to be suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
