Calderdale Council’s Planning Committee unanimously agreed to permit David Fletcher’s plans to build a first floor extension to Hebble End Mill, Hebble End, Hebden Bridge.

The proposal has taken time to come to fruition and was rejected last year but the latest application addressed concerns about the impact on two neighbouring homes.

Mr Fletcher said the holiday lets of around eight or nine were crucial because they would make it economically viable to urgently refurbish the mill.

Permission meant workshop units housing arts and crafts communities could stay and expand, as well as a home found for the recently displaced Artsmill gallery.
