The work on King Cross Street between the Bull Green roundabout and the top end of the on-slip to Burdock Way is due to start on Monday 26 January and involves the planing and resurfacing of the carriageway surface.

The Council says it should be completed by Wednesday, February 4.

The road width will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the works to ensure the safety of pedestrians. Therefore King Cross Street will only be open to traffic travelling downhill from Burdock Way to Bull Green roundabout, whilst traffic wanting to drive up King Cross Street will be diverted via Orange Street roundabout.

Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the works.

Calderdale Council’s Head of Planning and Highways, Geoff Willerton, said: “I’d like to thank motorists in advance for their patience while we carry out this essential maintenance.

“We’re doing all we can to minimise disruption, and aim to complete the work as soon as possible.”
