Organised by Brighouse Business Initiative, the street market will take over all of Brighouse town centre on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.

Bigger and better than before, it is now firmly established as one of the largest local produce markets in West Yorkshire with more than 80 stalls full of locally produced food and crafts.

New for this year’s Spring Market will be an array of spectacular street entertainers performing over the weekend.

There will be more fun-filled fairground rides to keep the little ones amused, as well as miniature steam train rides and vintage vehicles at what has become a family fun weekend.

The expanded market will have more than 15 hot food stalls to choose from, and for those with a sweet tooth there is plenty of choice for dessert.

On top of this there is a whole host of local food producers. From local cheese-makers to community bread bakers, local jams and preserves, pork pies and savoury tarts, the market will give visitors an opportunity to meet the people who make delicious local food.

There will also be a wide variety of locally produced crafts on sale as the organisers continue to attract more stallholders each year.

John Buxton, of Ryecorn Wholefoods in Brighouse, one of the event organisers, said: “It’s wonderful to see how far we’ve come since holding our first market in 2012 with only 25 stalls, to now having one of the best local produce markets in West Yorkshire.

“The popularity of our markets means that we are able to keep expanding the range of produce on offer.

“Our Spring Market now covers the whole weekend and we’ve laid on some great entertainment to keep the whole family amused.

“We entirely self-fund this market, like all our other events, and its success proves what a great community we have in Brighouse.”

The award-winning market will run from 10am until 5pm on Saturday, April 25, and from 10am until 4pm on Sunday, April 26.
