Pounds pumped into Calder

Five new jobs have been created in Brighouse as one of its best known pubs reopens after a £310,000 investment.

The Calder, which is situated on Huddersfield Road, will be celebrating the new look with the pub’s general manager Steve Richardson and the team.

The pub will host a VIP reception for local businesses and customers on Saturday between 7pm and 9pm boasting entertainment with a magician and fire breathers.

Steve said: “This investment is going to be great for the pub.

“We have doubled the dining area and now have seating for 160 diners.

“There will also be a new DJ area and customers will get the chance to enjoy our late night offer until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.

For those who want to enjoy a late night of music and a live DJ the pub will open until 1.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Calder will open from 9am to 11pm Sunday to Wednesday and 10am to 1.30am on Friday and Saturday.

It will be open from 11am to 11pm on Sunday.
