Joint Health Scrutiny Committee Co-Chair, councillor Liz Smaje (Kirklees) and Deputy Chair, councillor Howard Blagbrough (Calderdale) said: “This meeting will provide an opportunity for the Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee to give CCGs constructive feedback on their proposed consultation materials.

“The committee appreciates that the proposals outlining the changes to hospital services will be of interest to many people living in Calderdale and Kirklees.

“During the CCGs’ formal consultation period the Joint Committee will undertake its own detailed review of the proposals to ensure that any changes put quality of care first, are clinically evidence-based and that the views of local people are fully considered.

“The committee is committed to ensuring that local people and key stakeholders have an opportunity to take part in the consultation and encourage all to get involved and have their say in a series of drop-in events and meetings, which will be organised and promoted over the coming months.”
