Ready for kick off in memory of Lisa

Old Pond Football Club will be marking the eleventh occasion of their annual charity football match at Lane Head Recreation Ground on Sunday May 1 at 10.30.

The event is to raise money for the charity Cardiomyopathy UK in memory of Lisa Freeman, a young mother of two who died in October 2005 from the heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

She worked at St Joseph’s R.C. Primary school.

The football club and the locals of Hove Edge and surrounding areas have raised thousands of pounds in Lisa’s memory for over a decade and are looking for a good turn out again on the Bank Holiday weekend whether at the football match or back in the Old Pond pub Spout House Lane afterwards.

The day begins with the charity football match when the current Old Pond team will play the Old Pond Legends, a side made up of former players and special guests from the Hove Edge area.
