School cook retires after 36 years
A special assembly with the whole school and staff past and present was held in honour of Ripponden Junior and Infant School's head cook Jackie Hayes, pictured with head teacher Lorraine Bamforth, who retired after 36 years service.
Key stage one children sang food themed songs and key stage two children sang two of her favourite songs - Mama Mia and The Skyboat Song.
Children presented her with recipes that year ones had written for her and a book of children’s memories of her.
The highlight was the whole school singing Cooking Queen, their own version of Dancing Queen.
