School life: Learning CPR and taking a trip to London

On Tuesday 18 October all Senior School pupils at Hipperholme Grammar School were trained in CPR as part of the National '˜Restart a Heart Day'.

Dr Stephen Dykes from Yorkshire Ambulance Service along with a representative of West Yorkshire Fire Service led the training which will enable pupils to help out in an emergency situation.

The training included phoning for emergency help along with the latest advice on CPR.

Money raised by the non-uniform day and the School’s Christmas Fayre on Saturday 3 December will be used to install automated defibrillators at both Junior and Senior Schools as well as for the local community.

l GCSE Business Studies and Design students visited London recently to help with their studies.

They visited a number of museums including the Museum of Brands where they took part in a theoretical challenge to design new branding for ‘Marmite’.

Other visits included the V&A museum and Chelsea Football Club as well as much anticipated meal at the Hard Rock Cafe.
