Laura, who has recently graduated from Liverpool with a degree in illustration, is now teaching our aspiring artists how to lino print.

Our students have been enjoying learning how to transform their designs into prints which will then be developed in Photoshop and included in their GCSE/A-Level coursework, Laura will continue to come in and work with our students and we are excited to see what they will produce!

For the past few years, art teachers from Todmorden High school have visited local primary schools in order to give their year 6 classes a taste of what is in store for them when they join in year 7.

Miss Pilling has visited Castle Hill Primary school for the past few weeks now and delivered art lessons which the students have all thoroughly enjoyed. The theme of the lessons has been ‘Cupcakes’ which the year 6s have found very exciting, they have eaten, drawn and painted cupcakes and finally designing a ‘collage cake’ where they will use a template and decorated it with different materials in order to create their very own 3-D slice of cake.

Miss Pilling will be visiting other primaries before all their work is collectively exhibited at Todmorden Train Station’s Platform No.1 Art Gallery; we are all very excited for this event and hope to see as many people there as possible.
