The store’s national campaign Neighbourhood Food Collection started several years back and has really grown in size and last year nationally collected over 2,977 tonnes of surplus and donated food for FareShare, this equates to seven million meals.

FareShare is an award winning UK charity that fights hunger and food waste and deliver it to people who need it, benefiting vulnerable people.

Over five million people in the UK live in ‘deep poverty’ making it hard for them to afford everyday essentials, including food.

In November 2014 the Bradford Road store managed to raise over 2,400 meals for FareShare and this year they are aiming to double that and hit 5,000 meals.

Colleagues will all be on hand to talk to customers and show them what products they can help with if they want to support the event.
