Snow for Harrogate and Ripon next week?
Snow is not on the way – despite national newspaper claims.
The Daily Express reports today that a lengthy spell of extreme and potentially devastating winter weather is just around the corner, with blizzards, record-low temperatures and polar gales.
However, a Met Office spokesman said: “There won’t be any snow in Yorkshire next week. There might be a light dusting over the Scottish Highlands but that’s nothing unusual.
“Next week will feel cold in comparison to the recent very mild weather.”
The spokesman questioned the reliability of national newspapers’ sources in weather stories.
