The run will last around three hours and can is expected to pass the Turnpike Inn in Saddleworth Moor, The Beehive Inn in Ripponden and the Hare and Hound Country Inn in Hebden Bridge, and others throughout the day.

Both old and new tractors are welcome to join the event, with a entry fee of £10, which will go to charity.

Organisers will present the money raised to Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team, which provide a life-saving emergency service, trained in night and extreme weather rescue, as well as specialist medical treatment and stretcher evacuation.

The event will also be raising money for Watermark Calderdale, a not-for-profit campaign that aims to build a resilience fund for local towns in the event of flooding.

The campaign is working to gather a large pot of money for local businesses and households to use should any flooding happen in the future.

The tractor run was arranged by local heating oil, red diesel and lubricant distributor Craggs Energy and will be jointly run with Calderdale Young Farmers, who are a part of the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers.

It is not the first time that Craggs Energy have set up an event to raise money for Watermark Calderdale.

Last month, a group of 13 members of Craggs Energy staff managed to raise £2665 for Watermark, as well as The Christie Charity, another local charity.

The group walked for 23 hours from the company’s head office in Cragg Vale to the Hinchcliffe Arms in Hebden Bridge.
