Bradford crisp factory goes up in smoke

Over 50 firefighters including those from Calderdale have been tackling a huge blaze at the former Seabrook Crisp factory in Bradford.

Fire crews arrived at the scene at 9.45pm on Monday night and found the derelict three storey building on fire on Allerton Road, Allerton.

The third floor and roof was 100 per cent involved.

Crews from Halifax and Illingworth attended where five large jets and one ground monitor was used.

Six appliances from throughout the brigade plus two aerial appliances and various specialist officers and equipment also tackled the fire.

No one has been injured in the blaze as the operation began to scale down at 11.30pm.
