Buses have stopped running to part of Halifax town centre because of “safety issues”.

The services hit are 509, 510, 511, 512, 513, 521, 522 and 523.

There is no sign of any barriers blocking the road but there are signs up in bus stop along that street saying “bus stop not in use” and directing people to different stops in other parts of the town centre.

There are reports on social media that there are issues with the road surface. The Courier has contacted Calderdale Council for a comment.
