UPDATE: Fire crews attend log fire

Fire crews spent 17 hours tackling a log fire on Norland Moor.

The incident, which was caused by embers from a rubbish fire blowing across onto the log pile, started at 10pm last night (Wednesday) and was extinguished by 3pm this afternoon.

Firefighters from Elland and Halifax, who were initially called to the incident at Longley Lane, used the Combined Aerial Rescue Platform to tackle the fire, before being relieved by crews from Brighouse and Huddersfield. They then returned to the incident this morning, relieving Brighouse and Huddersfield.

Nobody has been injured in the incident.
