Witness appeal as multi-lorry M62 crash leaves several people with injuries

Police officers in West Yorkshire are appealing for witnesses after a multi-lorry crash left several people with injuries.

Police and emergency services were called at 2.39pn yesterday to reports of a serious road traffic collision just past Junction 22 on the M62 eastbound carriageway.

The incident was a multi vehicle crash involving four HGV Lorries and a Ford Fiesta.

Several people were injured.

A full road closure was put in place between Junction 24 for Ainley Top and Junction 22 for Rishworth.

Officers worked with Highways England to clear the motorway and allow traffic flow.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire said: "An investigation is being carried out to determine the cause of the crash and enquiries are ongoing.

"Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any dashcam footage that may assist in the investigation to contact 101 quoting log 1041 of 16 March."
