The duo will depart from Hebden Bridge tomorrow, Sunday October 5, at 4pm, when they will leave for Manchester, Dover, Paris, Spain and eventually their final destination, Gibraltar. At each destination, celebrities will help raise cash to get the lads to the next leg of their journey by taking part in tasks.

The climax of their road trip will culminate on October 15 when the actors put on a show at Mackintosh Theatre, Gibraltar which will be streamed live online www.themiddleagedroadtrip.com

Mr Coll, who has had acting roles in TV shows including Emmerdale and in the recently released film Northern Soul, has suffered with depression and wants to raise awareness and funds for Samaritans which helped him when he was at his lowest ebb, he says.

“Dan and I have worked together over the years and it was something we just wanted to do. I’ve got through a tough time where I’ve realised that life is too short and so we’ve decided to follow our dream whilst raising awareness and funds at the same time.
