UPDATE - Man appears in court over broad daylight sexual assault in Brighouse

Darren Halford of Finkil Street, Brighouse, appeared at Calderdale Magistrates today (Friday) on the charge of sexual assault.

The charge relates to an alleged incident were a 22-year-old woman was walking along the canal towpath in Brighouse town centre at around 6.40am on Tuesday.

The 48-year-old who was wearing a grey sweater in the dock only spoke to confirm his name, age and address.

No plea was entered.

He was remanded in custody until his next appearence which will be at Bradford Crown Court on September 18.
