Weather couldn’t stop Ramfest fun

The rain didn’t dappen people’s spirits last Sunday as Ramfest returned for its sixth year.

The event took place at Southowram Cricket Club and attracted over 1000 people to listen to some great local bands, eat good food and have a fun day.

The day started off with beautiful sunshine but halfway through the musical event there was a torrential downpour which threatened to cut it short, but people soldiered on and everyone still had a great time.

Ramfest was all about the bands and While the Cats Away, the International Party Doctors and Jake Smallbones were just some of the musical acts that entertained the crowds on the day.

Sean Liquorish, one of the organisers, said: “It all went really well considering the weather.

It was nice to have everyone there, especially Ravenscliffe school who put on a really good performance.”

Ramfest was raising money for two charities, the Ravenscliffe@Spring Hall project and Calderdale Young carers, who both volunteered on the day with performances and stalls.

The organisers would like to thanks all of the volunteers and everyone who gave their support to the event.
