Calderdale flood alert remains in place as heavy rainfall hits the borough

The Environment Agency issued a be prepared alert for the Upper River Calder catchment area yesterday evening
IN an update a spokesperson for the EA said: "River levels peaked this morning and are currently falling.

Hide AdAlthough they still remain high, they are forecast to fall through the rest of this morning, (Monday) and into the mid-afternoon.
"Further rainfall showers are forecast for later this afternoon and into the evening but we are not expecting any further significant river response.
"Our incident response staff are closely monitoring the situation. If you are aware of any local issues please call our Incident Hotline on 0800 80 70 60."
