Danger to life warning in Calderdale as Met Office issues thunderstorm warning

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Calderdale with a chance of flooding and a danger to life.
The Met Office has a yellow thunderstorm warning in place across much of the UK.

Hide AdWarning of a risk of flooding, disruption to travel and a chance of power cuts, the warning will remain in place in Calderdale until midnight on Thursday.
But the Met Office said there was "significant uncertainty" in the location and timing of the storms.

Today
Thundery showers will gradually die out through the morning, leaving some bright or sunny spells. Further scattered showers and thunderstorms are then likely to developing through the afternoon. Feeling warm and humid. Maximum temperature 27 °C.
Tonight
Showers dying out this evening, then staying dry. Turning cloudier and cooler in the east, with mist or fog patches developing along the coast. Warm overnight. Minimum temperature 17 °C.

Hide AdCloud burning back toward the coast through the morning. Dry with sunny spells inland, but some thundery showers possible in the west later. Warm inland. Maximum temperature 28 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday
Dry but rather cloudy Thursday, warm in developing sunny spells with isolated thundery showers possible. Increasingly cloudy through Friday and Saturday, with isolated showers as temperatures return close to normal.
