Hide AdA Met Office spokesperson said: “Outbreaks of rain will clear to scattered showers by Friday evening with temperatures then falling quickly allowing icy stretches to develop on untreated surfaces, especially where sheltered from the westerly winds. “Showers will become increasingly wintry overnight, some heavy with hail over Scotland and adding to the ice risk but fresh lying snow will be confined to hills.”
The spokesperson said the public should be aware of the risk of icy stretches on roads and pavements.
