Storm Boelo cancels day of markets at Halifax's Piece Hall
The Piece Hall has cancelled one of two days of markets this weekend ahead of the arrival of Storm Boelo.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind which covers Calderdale and is in place from noon tomorrow until 9pm on Sunday.
The weather experts say Storm Boelo will bring “a very windy and wet spell” and some disruption is likely across parts of the north.
The Piece Hall was due to host dozens of independent traders in its courtyard both tomorrow and on Sunday.
But now the landmark says Sunday’s markets will not go ahead.
"Due to forecast wind speeds, Sunday’s Real Market will no longer be going ahead,” it has posted.
"Saturday’s market will still go ahead as planned.”
