Wedding scene fuels Last Tango

Film crew and cast descended upon Ripponden for the wedding of the year in the upcoming series of Last Tango in Halifax.

The Glenfield Garage petrol station was at the centre of the spotlight this week, as passers-by caught a sneak peak of the action to come in the latest Last Tango series, as production crew gave a hint to a storyline of Caroline and Kate’s wedding.

A black car similar to the one that character Caroline drives, covered in white bows, was captured by residents in Ripponden as speculation began to hit social media.

Trevor Craven, owner of Over the Bridge bed and breakfast, went past the set twice on Wednesday.

“There was a lot going off in the petrol station during the day. The car parked there was definitely a wedding car and it was the black car that Sarah Lancashire drives in the Last Tango series.”

Filming for the third series of the BBC One hit romantic drama has been ongoing around Calderdale for the past few months, including Halifax town centre.

The eagerly awaited third series follows the reunited relationship of Caroline. played by Sarah Lancashire, and partner Kate, played by Nina Sosanya who will be at the centre of the season’s gay marriage storyline.
