What time will the Tour de Yorkshire be in Calderdale?
It's just over a month to go until the Tour de Yorkshire comes racing through Calderdale and organisers have unveiled the timings for the annual event.
Timings for the race, which will pass through the borough on May 6, have been calculated by anticipating the peloton’s average speed but are subject to change depending on variables such as wind speed, direction and how aggressively the riders race.
On Sunday May 6 The Piece Hall in Halifax will provide a spectacular location for the start of the stage at 12.10pm and after winding out of town and onto Burnley Road the cyclists with venture down to Mytholmroyd and Hebden Bridge.
There they will meet the first of six categorised climbs at Côte de Hebden Bridge at 12.45am.
The race will then head up out of Calderdale to the cobbled Main Street in Haworth.
After racing through the picturesque scenery of North Yorkshire the race will conclude on The Headrow in Leeds at around 5.11pm.
Welcome to Yorkshire Chief Executive Sir Gary Verity said: “It’s always exciting to share these timings as spectators can now plan exactly where and when they want to watch the action.
Every time I see them I’m astonished by how quickly the peloton travels, but these are the very best riders in the world after all!
“Of course, there is a huge amount of added entertainment planned across the county over the full four days, and be sure to line the route early to see the colourful race caravan and fleet of Yorkshire cycling legends pass through.”
