Your guide to Todmorden’s Incredible Foodie Fortnight 2015 - now let the banquet begin!

Saturday, September 12, marks the start of two weeks of top food and drink as Todmorden celebrates the Incredible Foodie Fortnight!

Organised by Upper Calder Charities Assist (UCCA), Incredible Edible Todmorden, EatDrink Todmorden, Calderdale Markets and a host of local shops, bars and restaurants - one hosting a cinema! - don your bib and tucker to see the amazing range of produce and services the town has to offer.

Locally produced food is on show on Saturday, September 12, the first festival day, at Pollination Street next to Todmorden Market from 10am to 4pm. There’s nothing from more than 20 miles away and much of it produced much closer to home.

The same day there is the chance to try artisan food at Great Rock Co-op, Staups Lee Farm, from 10am to 2pm, while Ham Corner hosts pie tasting in Todmorden Market Hall from 10am to 4pm.

It’s herbs - snacks and drinks - galore on Sunday, September 13, at Incredible Edible’s apothercary garden by the Todmorden Health Centre car park, Lower George Street, noon to 3pm.

Everything you need to know about jam on Monday, September 14, when your’re Jammin’ at Todmorden Community Resource Centre, by Lever Street car park, from 5pm to 7pm.

There are two “Accompanied Kids Eat Free” sessions - they’re at the Queen Hotel, Rise Lane, on Tuesday, September 15, 5pm to 9pm, and at the Roebuck Inn, Burnley Road, Portsmouth, Cornholme, same times, on Wednesday, September 16.

The Incredible Aquagarden is open from 2pm to 4pm at Ewood Lane, behind Todmorden High School, on Thursday, September 17, and later in the day, from 5pm to 10pm, Blackbird restaurant in Water Street will produce a special menu using its produce.

Produce from the Incredible Farm, Rochdale Road, Walsden, will be on sale there from 10am to 3.30pm on Friday, September 18 (turn left at the pallet works).

On Saturday, September 19, Great Rock Co-op again showcase artisan food (10am-2pm) while in Todmorden market there’s pie tasting (Ham Corner) and cheese tasting (Crumbly Cheese Stall).

Site Pizzeria at Rochdale Road is offering a special menu - any pizza £5 - from noon to 8pm on Sunday, September 20.

On Monday, September 21 (noon to 5pm), and Wednesday, September 23 (5pm to 9pm), enjoy a pint, sausage and mash for £5 at Jack’s House, Burnley Road. On the Wednesday, also try some Polish Food Tasting at Central Deli, Rochdale Road, opposite the Golden Lion (10am to 4pm).

Todmorden Cricket Club’s 16th Beer Festival runs at the Centre Vale, Burnley Road, ground on Thursday (from 5pm), Friday and Saturday (both from noon), September 24, 25 and 26.

All day, all over town, there is a Garage Trail Day on Saturday, September 26, and artisan food again at Great Rock Co-op (10am to 2pm).

Each day there is Vegan Food Tasting at Saker Bakery’s shop, Burnley Road, town centre, and barbecue demos and free tastings at Gordon Rigg’s garden centre, Walsden.

More events may be added and the festival reaches its climax on Sunday, September 27, with the Incredible Edible Harvest Festival at Pollination Street by the market, 1pm to 4pm, with fun for all the family.

Now all you need to do is come along - and dig in!

- The Foodie Film Nights are at Crazy 8 Bar, Golden Lion, Fielden Square, 7pm for 7.30pm start each night, following which food (price varies each night) ties in with its theme:

Saturday, September 19, East Is East (pie, chips and a beer); Sunday, September 20, Chocolat (wine and chocolate tasting). Monday, September 21, Nina’s Heavenly Delights (curry buffet). Tuesday, September 22, Big Night (pasta buffet). Wednesday, September 23, The Mexican (freshly cooked burritos available to order). Thursday, September 24, Series of short Ted Talks on food (tapas).
