Beaumont spurs hosts

It's an ill wind that blows no one any good but Outlane's offer to host a rearranged Halifax-Huddersfield Union Handicap Team competition paid rich dividends yesterday.

The event was due to be held at Saddleworth on Sunday, June 12 but postponed due to bad weather.

When a suitable new date to host the contest at the outpost course could not be found, Outlane offered to step in and their four-man team duly made the most of home advantage and lifted the Jack Sykes Trophy.
