Jennison lacks support

A half-century from Blackley skipper Reece Jennison was in vain as the Halifax League’s select side bowed out of the Yorkshire Inter-League Knockout competition yesterday.

Halifax League XI which lost asway to York Senior League

Jennison made 56 at Osbaldwick CC but the next top scorer was Thornton’s Ross Soames (24 no), who ran out of partners with two and a half of the 40 overs unused.

Defending 159, Mytholmroyd’s Jack Earle struck early and Greg Soames picked up a couple of wickets as Halifax got through the home top four.

However, York’s fifth-wicket pair both hit unbeaten half-centuries to complete a comfortable win for the hosts.
