Linfoot has been recovering from a broken wrist over the last six weeks after hitting the deck during a wet qualifying session at Oulton Park last month.

The 27-year-old remains on course to return to the series at the same track in two weeks time, where he hopes to have full confidence that his body can hold up to the full demands of Superbikes racing.

Linfoot said: “Life is back to normal and I have got all movement back and a good chunk of the strength. It’s definitely making good progress, and I should be back to full fitness before the next round.”

The rider completed 43 laps of testing at the Snetterton mid-season test last week but still felt discomfort in his arm and was limited to riding slower laps than his rivals.

But he believes his right wrist – crucial to levering the throttle and brake – will have strengthened for the experience.

“I’m hoping by the time I return to Snetterton, the wrist is completely back to normal and out of my mind,” Linfoot said.

“When I rode the bike last week it was quite uncomfortable. To go up to full throttle was fine but when I was breaking with any angle on the bike, it was difficult.”

Linfoot has enjoyed a strong start to life at his new Honda Racing team and earned a first second place in British Superbikes at the first round at Donington.

The series has taken a 10- week mid-season break due to several team competing at the Isle of Man TT.

The gap in action has arrived at a perfect time for Linfoot’s recovery and he still harbours hopes of a Showdown place in the final three races of the season.
