Brighouse beaten at Ossett

The Hove Edge side, 2-0 home winners against Radcliffe Borough in their opener on Saturday, were 4-0 down at one stage.

Ossett struck three times in 12 minutes in the second quarter through two goals from Alex Peterson either sided of one from Tyrone Gay.

When Devonte Morton increased the home side’s advantage just after the hour, Brighouse were facing a hiding.

However, a superb strike from Tom Haigh cut the deficit on 66 minutes and good work from Ernest and Dan Illingworth paved the way for Luke Parkin to add a second near the end.

Paul Quinn’s side are away to Glossop North End in the preliminary round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
