Durham raiders triumph

Brighouse Town were no match for Spennymoor Town, losing 4-0 at home to the third-placed side in Division One North of the Northern Premier League yesterday.

Two goals in six minutes early in the second half sealed the fate of Paul Quinn’s men, who had crushed Droylsden 8-0 on the same ground five days earlier.

A Nathan Fisher effort after 50 minutes was added to by a Jimmy Pollard own goal and James Risbrough put the icing on the cake for the County Durham side five minutes from time.
