FC Halifax Town: Nantwich preview

FC Halifax Town play their first-ever FA Trophy semi-final on Saturday (3pm) when they travel to Nantwich in the first-leg.

Nantwich are 14 points off the play-offs in the Evo-Stik Premier, and have lost only three of their 22 home games this season.

They are the second highest scorers in the division, while no other club in the league have scored more home goals than them.

The Dabbers have already beaten Salford City, King’s Lynn, Stockport, Matlock, Bradford Park Avenue, Stourbridge and Dover in this season’s FA Trophy.

They have won four of their last five home matches.

Phil Parkinson was appointed as Nantwich manager in February last year and is a former captain of the club who lifted the FA Vase for them in 2006.

Halifax go into the game in mixed form, having only lost once in their last eight away matches and winning three of their last six games.

Town have kept clean sheets in four of their five games in this season’s Trophy.

Town’s last visit to Nanwtich ended in a 6-0 win back in February 2011 with goals from Tom Baker, Danny Holland, two from Lee Gregory, and one each for Jamie Vardy and Richard Marshall.
