ICYMI - FC Halifax Town v Chesterfield: Opposition Focus

Would there have been a case for Town to switch formations to a back four today? They lost last time out but wouldn’t especially say that was the fault of the formation. Slew is back on the bench but could he have started as a winger? Or Capello on the left with Senior going to left back? Perhaps. Would have though the back three would have been selected with Chesterfield in mind, due to the fact they look strong going forward and having three centre backs just offers Town that bit more protection in defence. But Halifax need to make sure they offer enough going forward.

Armando Dobra joined Chesterfield this summer after leaving Ipswich Town, where he came through the club's youth academy. The attacking midfielder has already shown an eye for goal for the club this season and has represented Albania's under 21 side.

4-1-4-1 - Fitzsimons; King, Williams, Grimes, Clements; Jones; Mandeville, Oldaker, Whelan, Dobra; Quigley. Subs: Palmer, Akinola, Uchegbulam, Asante, Tshimanga.

Just one change as Dierseruvwe comes back in for Harker. Hunter on the bench after serving a one game ban. No Jordan Keane, Slew back on the bench too, as is Jesse Debrah

Town team

Johnson, Arthur, Stott, Senior, Golden, Summerfield, Gilmour, Capello, Cooke, Spence, Dierseruvwe

Subs: Harker, Warburton, Debrah, Slew, Hunter

Halifax: Ebbsfleet (FAC a) L 2-1, Solihull Moors (a) W 1-0, Bromley (a) D 1-1, Boreham Wood (h) W 1-0, Yeovil (a) L 1-0

Chesterfield: Gateshead (h) W 2-1, Northampton (FAC h) W 1-0, Torquay (a) W 5-1, Solihull (a) W 2-0, AFC Wimbledon (FAC a) W 2-0

Andrew Miller has shown 21 yellow cards and one red card in seven National League games this season. Took charge of Halifax’s 2-1 home win over Oldham in October as well as Chesterfield’s 2-1 home defeat to Maidenhead, also in October, and their 1-0 win over Aldershot in August.

The first of three home games in a week for Town (pitch permitting) and the toughest one comes up today by the look of it. Chesterfield on a great run of six straight wins and have some outstanding attacking options. Town aiming to bounce back from defeat at Yeovil last time out. Don’t think a point would be a bad result for The Shaymen to be honest.
