Johnson, Senior, Cummings, Stott, Golden, Summerfield, Hunter, Galvin, Alli, Oluwabori, Harker. Subs: Keane, Cosgrave, Evans, Chikukwa, Wilson.

Paul Marsden has shown 19 yellow cards in three National League games this season, and has awarded one penalty. Last season he took charge of Town’s 5-0 home win over Wealdstone in February and Southend’s 2-0 win at York in October.

Chris Millington’s programme notes

“It is a young squad which is oe of the reasons why I keep asking for your support and encouragement when things don’t go our way. The players need you behind them. But what this young squad will give us is continuity, stability, and it will continue to get better over the next three seasons.”

Chris Millington's programme notes

“There is definitely a sense we are moving in the right direction. An interesting statistic sent to me earlier this week showing Halifax as the most improved team in the division from this time last year is very encouraging.”

Chairman’s programme notes

“We would love to say a big thank you to our travelling fans at Rochdale. Although the travelling number was fewer than for our fixture at Oldham we were wowed by the tremendous noise levels not just for a while but before and throughout the game. It is really appreciated and it makes a difference to the boys on the pitch.”

Chairman’s programme notes

“Everyone must take credit for an early solid start to the season and despite having a changeover in playing staff and injuries, we have achieved better performances and points tally.”

Tough test awaits for The Shaymen today. Southend in a very false position in the league due to their points deduction. CM was right this week when he said they have a team packed with National League quality players - Bridge, Scott-Morriss, Cardwell etc. Southend will be fired up too, they’re that type of team, so Town will have to be as well. As far as changes go, can’t see there being many from Town - main decision could be whether Evans or Hunter starts alongside Summerfield in midfield
