Fisher nets Brighouse winner

Substitute Chris Fisher ensured Brighouse Town completed a superb November with a late winner at home to Ossett Town yesterday.

Foster struck in the 88th minute to give the Hove Edge side a 2-1 victory and move them up to 12th in the Evo Stik Northern Premier League’s Division One North.

It was Town’s fourth win on the bounce, following draws in their first two matches this month.

Town’s ground had to survive a morning pitch inspection after heavy rain before the green light was given for the hosts to face opponents who had earlier knocked them out of the FA Trophy.

Ernest Boafo gave Brighouse a fine start with a free kick from the edge of the box into the bottom corner of the net after six minutes.

Ossett, two places below Town going into the game, drew level with Chris Wood’s penalty just after the break.

Fisher, a 61st minute substitute, was the hero when he sent the ball into the top corner of the net, from James Hurtley’s header, with time running out.

Brighouse finished with 10 men when Hurtley was dismissed for a second bookable offence in stoppage time.
