Forecast gives Shaymen hope

A reasonable weather forecast for the next 36 hours has raised hopes that FC Halifax Town’s rearranged FA Trophy first round game against Tamworth will go ahead tomorrow (7.45).

Not even the improved drainage at The Shay could cope with torrential rain on Saturday. The pitch was playable at 9.30am and 10.30am but by 12.45pm the situation had changed and the referee called the match off.

It is expected to be largely cloudy and dry today with winds strengthening tomorrow ahead of evening rain. There could be fog in Calderdale tomorrow until mid-afternoon.

Town have a “Kids For A Quid” offer tomorrow and reduced admission across the board.
