Taking our chances

I think everyone got a bit excited that we’ve gone third - the points gap from third to seventh isn’t that big. If we’d lost on Saturday we could have been out of the top-five.

It could have been more than 3-0 on Saturday. I don’t think it was one of our best performances of the season. We controlled the game well, which was nice to see.

We caused ourselves a few problems at the back by being a bit lazy. We seemed to get sucked into their tempo, which was slow. And the heat played a part - it was the first game we’ve really played in hot temperatures since pre-season.

Some of the games we’ve drawn or lost we’ve played better in the first-half and could have been three or four up. But we just seemed to be more clinical on Saturday. Our finishing was great. When you do that, it makes a lot of difference in the second-half.

Tough game? No Kidding

We’ve got two really tough away games coming up. We always go out to try and win a game but we do realise what we’re up against.

It you asked any of the lads who’s been the best side we’ve played this season, they’d say Brackley at home. They were very well organised and just a very good team. And the best footballing side we’ve played has probably been Kidderminster at home. They’ll be two totally different games.

If you offered me four points from them now, I’d snatch your hand off. Obviously we want six but the Kidderminster game has been made more difficult because they’ve got back within touching distance of winning the league. They’re only six points off with a game in hand, so they’ll be really up for it on Saturday.

If we get a win there it would be great to take that into the Brackley game, which is our game in hand.

It would take a lot of pressure off that game, but if we get beat at Kidderminster the Brackley game is more important and becomes a must-win.

I don’t think a draw would be the worst result in the world at Kidderminster, considering how good a team they are.

Browny will be back

He came back and slotted in like he’d never been away. He worked really hard on his fitness, but like most people with long-term injuries, when they come back and start playing again, sooner or later, they pick up a muscle injury. You’re at a higher risk of injury when you’ve been out that long.

Everyone realises how gutted he was and how hard he’d worked to come back, but he’ll be back pretty soon.
