FC Halifax Town Q&A LIVE

We’re still on the pie and peas here but the queue has died down so the Q&A should resume shortly

We’ll be back in a few minutes (or possibly longer judging by the queue) after everyone’s got their pie and peas

Pie and peas have taken priority now, with guests off to get some grub

AC: “The fact that they’ve already got the processes in place and you drop straight in, the way training’s delivered matches how I want to work. As soon as we discussed about me coming in we both had similar values and ideas. And the aspirations of getting this club back to where we wanted to be was a project I wanted to be involved in. It’s a foundation I want to kick on with.”

CM: “He’s somebody who you will recognise is someone you can be proud of trying to serve the club.”

CM: “I believe our staff are as qualified and passionate as any in the league, some really good working processes in place in terms of recruitment, training, developing players. We needed to look for someone not phased by that, capable of dropping in and somebody who could buy into that straight away.”

CM: “Pretty much everyone in the backroom staff could have gone off and followed other opportunities at the end of last season, possibly with Pete or elsewhere. But they chose to stay here. That’s testament to what’s going on here.”

CM: “There was the possibility (of me joining Pete at Barrow). But for me the real joy of being here is the ability to build and grow and have a longer term vision for where the club wants to go. That was the desire on my part, to continue to build on the foundation that’s been put in place. We’re not the end product. My desire was to continue to try and push forward. Ultimately we want to be in the FL and I’m committed to trying to mke that happen.”

AC: “I’d expect that 90 per cent of the squad will be national academy graduates, and at least six starters will be players I coached.”

AC: “There’ll be rain during the World Cup, it’ll be a lot cooler than people think. Ideal fotball conditions in my view.”
