AC: “The under 19s team became Asian champions had around 380 players to choose a national team from.”

AC: “Moved to Qatar in 2007 and was there for ten years. Two of my three children were born there, fantastic memories of working there. My experience was massively positive, as a coach, an unbelievable place to work in. A real hub of activity. We trained full time as a youth set up. Set me up for what I wanted in the next stage of my career which was to work in senior football.”

AC: “My background has been in youth football, academy football, ten years at the National Academy in Qatar, two years with Leeds United as head of youth development and under 23 coach, working with Bielsa, which was an interesting insight. Also been involved with projects in India setting up pro club for the Super League. A broad range. Originally from East Yorkshire.

“I know many of the staff through courses and my travels. The last five weeks here has flown by.”

CM: “The squad has a very different make up to when we first went in, and we’ve gone from hybrid to full time. Brought in a lot of young players who have developed, some of whom have go onto play in the FL”

Kit has asked CM to talk about his career so far

“In some respects it only seems like yesterday but in others it seems like a lifetime ago” he says of first joining Halifax
