Red Star get on a roll after poor start
Hebden Royd Red Star took top honours at Calder ‘76’s second annual six-a-side tournament held over the weekend at Brearley playing fields, Mythomroyd.
Red Star recovered from losing their first two matches to advance through the group stages.
They then caused an upset by defeating reigning champions Ryburn United 2-1 in the semi final before dispatching Calder 76 A by a 2-0 scoreline in a keenly contested final.
Calder 76 raised more than £700 from the event which included 11 teams from across the district.
