National Conference League Premier side Siddal won 48-0 away to the Royal Air Force at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire while Elland, promoted to the Conference’s middle tier for 2015, beat Leeds Beckett University 26-0 at Greetland.

The pair will go into Monday evening’s draw, which will be conducted by Wembley try-scorers Ryan Hall (Leeds) and Oliver Holmes (Castleford), at Oulton Raiders (7.30).

The second round features 10 ties involving the 20 winners from the first round and will be played over the weekend of February 21-22.

Siddal took only 39 seconds to open the scoring through winger Richard Lopag and powered into a 30-0 half-time lead.

Prop George Ambler scored twice before Tom Garratt, Daniel Gregory and Lopag added to the tally, Chris Brooke adding three conversions.

The RAF players were fit but lacked the teamwork of the visitors, who pulled further clear with two more touchdowns from Lopag and one from man of the match Shaun Garrod.

A brace from loose forward Ross White completed the visitors’ 10-try tally.

Liam Coe, who added the only second half conversion, was one of four newcomers in the Siddal ranks.

He, fellow ex-West Bowling player Gregory and former Ovenden pair Gareth English and Brent Taylor all showed up well.

Elland, who had signed off their successful 2014 campaign with an 82-6 thrashing of Stanningley Rangers at the ground in mid-September, scored three tries in the first 20 minutes to dash the students’ hopes.

Oliver Fairbank, Chris Dyson and Joe Fradgley touched down and after two Cayci Pearson misses, Phil Taylor converted the third try.

Man of the match Dyson crossed again in the second half and Ben Fairbank got the other try as Elland proved too strong for the students, with Fradgley in particular giving them problems.
