Arms joined second-placed Bowling Green on 15 points with a runaway 7-1 home win over Lee Mount in the only game in the league to beat the weather on Sunday.

The 3G pitch at Trinity Academy again came up trumps and the rain held off while the Premier Division contest took place.

It was windy. however. Three balls which blew over the fence into the former St Catherine’s High School had to be retrieved later.

“It was pretty comfortable. We played well in the conditions,” said Fenton, who revealed that he was also hoping the side could reach a cup final this season.

Leaders and champions Carrington are very much the team to beat.

“There are one or two teams who could beat them on their day and I would like to think we might be one of them, although they have beaten us 6-3 this season.”

Waiters started well against the wind and were soon 2-0 up through Harry Talbot and Marco Romano.

Callum Meade pulled one back with a lob over stand-in ‘keeper Ashton Richardson but Romano set up Talbot to make it 3-1 by half time.

It was mainly one-way traffic in the second half. Billy Grogan scored twice, with a David Chappell effort after a good through ball from James Waggett in between.

Romano finished the scoring after combining with Lee Albon, Talbot missing a glorious chance to complete a hat-trick.
