West Central resign from Halifax AFL

West Central have resigned from the Haslem-Sheppard Halifax AFL.

Their decision was accepted by the league management committee and their record this season has been expunged.

Division Two side West Central had not played a game since November 15 due to various suspensions.

Meanwhile, the dates for this season’s cup finals at the Shay have been announced (7.0 kick-offs).

The reserve teams from Ryburn United and Midgley United will contest the Ziggy’s Metro Cars Invitation Cup on Wednesday, May 6.

The Halifax FA Albert Crabtree Cup final will be between Brighouse Town and Ovenden WR on Thursday May 7.

Midgley United will play Warley Rangers or Northowram in the Skircoat Green Physiotherapy Challenge Cup on Wednesday, May 13.

Midweek fixtures start in the Halifax AFL on Wednesday when title hopefuls Stump Cross travel to play Warley Rangers.

Wednesday, April 1, Division Premier: Hebden Royd Red Star v Calder 76 (S.Hoyle), Warley Rangers Halifax v Stump Cross (R.Walker).

Division One: Denholme United v AFC Crossleys (P.Bowe), Elland Allstars v Stainland United (S.Bragg), Sowerby Bridge v Hx Irish Centre (A.Gee).

Division Two: Shelf United Res v Illingworth St Marys (N.Hinson).
