Eli Hey made it 56 goals in 26 games this season with a hat-trick and Antony Brown got the other two to take his tally to 26 from 22.

Irish led 2-0 at half time against opponents who have finished in between them and sixth-placed Ovenden West Riding.

Meanwhile, Taylor’s Timber Centre in Bradford has confirmed its sponsorship of the West Riding County Amateur League for a second term covering the 2016-17 season.

Brighouse Old Boys made it five wins on the trot in the West Yorkshire League with a 3-1 home success against Wetherby on Saturday.

The one-time relegation candidates in the Premier Division were too skilful for young opponents at Hipperholme and Lightcliffe School.

They took the lead after 20 minutes when Calvin Lee volleyed home after the visiting ‘keeper had palmed the ball out.

A second goal soon followed, Lee’s shot rebounding off the far post for Matthew Richardson to tap the ball in.

Wetherby got one back after half time but Old Boys, with Jake Broadbent running riot on the left, restored their two goal advantage when a looping cross from attacking fullback Luke Johnson was headed in at the back post by the now rampant Lee.

Brighouse still have three matches left - all at home - starting with Horbury Town’s visit to Hipperholme & Lightcliffe School on Wednesday.
