The 28-year-old from Knaresborough put his struggles in 2014 behind him with a strong display throughout the week in Johannesburg.

Parry got off to a great start to the new year with a two-under-par round of 70, to be in a tie for 15th after the first day.
He then shot a bogey-free 69 to climb his way up the leaderboard into a tie for sixth position after day two, just three shots off the lead.

However, a struggle in Saturday’s third round saw him post a 76-shot card and he dropped into a tie for 36th.

The World Number 647 had a frustrating final round with the putter as he aimed to climb back up the leaderboard.

Despite hitting the ball well from tee to green, Parry was very unfortunate with the putts not going in, as he shot a level par 72 to finish tied for 33rd.

His performance earned him € 7,700.00.

Parry said: “There are a lot of positives to take from this week, especially with my ball striking.

“I think if I had made a few more putts, I could have been at the top of the leaderboard and in real contention for the win.

“Overall though I am happy with how I played and am just looking forward to getting back out there.”
Home favourite Charl Schwartzel and Andy Sullivan led the leaderboard ten shots ahead of Parry’s overall -1.

Schwartzel,  who dropped four shots in the last five holes to fall into a play-off, ended up losing out in his own country when Sullivan edged him out in the first extra hole.

Parry heads to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this week, before his busy schedule continues at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters on January 21.
