Hide AdKippax, the world number 18 who is originally from Chester, said: “We just came up against a really good opposition.
“We certainly went into the match thinking that we could do some damage and get through but they played really well, they were very solid.
“In the second set we felt like we were making some inroads but they stayed solid and played better in the end, they deserved to win.”
Team England have won plenty of squash medals north of the border and Adrian Grant, who had spent plenty of time at Queens Sports Club in Halifax, will be looking to add a gold to the tally today.
He lines up alongside Sheffield’s individual champion Nick Matthew against Australia’s Cameron Pilley and David Palmer in the men’s doubles final.
