The 23-year-old Cockcroft took to Twitter to say she had loved being back at the Olympic Park and to thank the fans for their support. “The noise was immense,” she said.

Retired former top wheelchair racer Tanni Grey-Thompson is predicting success for Cockroft in Brazil.

“I can’t see anyone beating her over 100 metres,” she said.
