They were without key players Andy Shickell, Phil Taylor, James Marshall and Joe Fradgley at Greetland Community Centre and that proved costly in the National Conference Division One contest.

The visitors from Hull, with one win and one defeat beforehand, got the only points of the first half following a move down the short side.

Elland winger Chris Dyson and then full back Joe Nicholson were left isolated and stand off Nathan Slater got the touch down with loose forward Liam Garnett converting.

The home side had a player sin-binned after the break and Myton took advantage, kicking through for Slater to score his second. Garnett converted.

Elland picked up and Brad Radcliffe chipped through for Jack Fairbank to drop on the ball and score, winding himself in the process. Cayci Pearson converted.

Myton restored their 12-point lead when Garnett broke through the line to score under the posts and converted.

Radcliffe gave Elland hope when he chipped over the defence, caught the ball, stepped the fullback and went on to score. Pearson added the extras.

Another Radcliffe kick produced Elland’s third try. Steven Brocklehurst collected and off-loaded to Nicholson, who touched down in the corner.

However, the conversion was missed and an Elland side which had failed to play to its potential came up just short.
