They cut loose in the second half at Greetland Community Centre after trailing 6-2 at half time.

Saddleworth’s indiscipline blighted their game and they soon had a man in the sin-bin. However, it didn’t stop them taking advantage of some half-hearted defence to go 6-0 up.

Phil Taylor made a nice chip which man of the match Jack Fairbank caught to touch down under the posts but the try was disallowed for offside.

Shortly afterwards cousin Oliver Fairbank made a great break but didn’t quite have the legs to score.

A Taylor penalty eventually got Elland on the scoreboard.

Judd Fairbank started the second half with two big carries.

Tom Harnett made a good run and off-loaded to Chris Cullimore on his inside. Cullimore drew the full back and sent Dave Webb through to score with Taylor’s kick giving Elland an 8-6 lead.

Joe Nicholson broke down the wing and looked like scoring, only to be caught by the full back, a holding down offence earning Elland a penalty and Saddleworth another yellow card.

From the scrum in front of the posts Harnett stepped neatly between two defenders to touch down, Taylor’s kick making it 14-6.

Jack Fairbank set up the next try for Harnett, forcing his way through with a big hand off. Taylor converted.

Good handling enabled winger Alex Milburn to score an unconverted try in the corner and Cayci Pearson barged over from dummy half but received a yellow card for slapping one of their players.

Taylor converted and was on target again to make it 36-6 after Brad Radcliffe, fed by Jack Fairbank, beat the fullback on the outside.

Just before the final whistle a Taylor chip was caught by Fairbank - this time on-side - and he unselfishly allowed Harnett to complete a hat trick, Taylor converting.
